About us
Hi, welcome to our campsite! At Camping de Toekomst in Renesse.
We are Merijn and Marloes with our children Maudi and Maxim. And not forgetting our sweet dog Mick!
Also a warm welcome from all our animals on our petting zoo: the pony, donkeys, sheeps, alpacas, goats, etc. Some of them roam freely around the campsite every day so you are sure to meet them.
Why do you think the campsite is called ‘the Future’? That’s how our house and company were named by Merijn’s grandparents. You see the house immediately when you drive onto the campsite; this is also where the campsite reception is.
The grandparents once (early 1900s) had an orchard with fruit trees, apples and pears.
When tourism was on the rise in the 1950s/60s, they responded. People started visiting the beautiful Zeeland coast in their free time and looked for a place to sleep during their holidays or weekends. Some holiday homes were built for rental and mobile homes were not to be missed.
Merijn’s parents then expanded this after obtaining the permit for camping sites and the first touring caravans and tents were a reality. Well first for ‘well-off people’ because after all, you had to own a car to pull the caravan to the campsite. 😉
This further expanded over time to a total campsite which thus became the core business instead of fruit farming.
Now, we, Merijn and Marloes officially took over together and the campsite is what it is today. Together, we are enthusiastically working on the future at ‘the Future’.
With many more plans, ideas and creativity, we will make the campsite even more ‘our own’ in the coming years. We’ll do our very best to make you and you comfortable and make you feel as much at home as we and our animals do at ‘de Toekomst’.
Welcome and see you soon!
Greetings, Merijn, Marloes, Maudi and Maxim
